“PayBrokers had an exceptional year in payments area and entered the lottery market with strength”

The financial transactions sector in iGaming is one of the most sensitive in the segment and could not be missing from the GMB 2023 Balance/2024 Goals exclusive series. The CEO of PayBrokers, Edson Lenzi, talks about the exceptional year, not only as a systems provider payment system, having even plugged the institution into the Central Bank, but also by entering the lottery market. “We are not only diversifying our services, but contributing to the modernization and efficiency of this sector,” said the executive to GMB.

GMB - What is your assessment of PayBrokers' performance and growth in 2023 in general? Was it as expected or did it exceed your expectations?
Edson Lenzi -
We are very pleased with the growth that PayBrokers achieved throughout this year, as even with very aggressive planning, all numbers exceeded our expectations. One of the main achievements of the year was the opening of a new strategic operation for the group: the incorporation of our payments institution plugged into the Central Bank of Brazil. Aligned with our vision of offering complete solutions and taking into account the regulated market, this operation will allow us to operate safely and efficiently in the Brazilian market, meeting the demands of our customers.

What is your assessment of PayBrokers' performance and growth in the Brazilian market in 2023?
It is gratifying to see how the Brazilian market is increasingly solidifying and how PayBrokers is following this growth. Our focus on innovation and quality of services has attracted not only new customers, but also partners looking for a differentiator in the market. We are happy to see the growing number of new customers, and even more so with the exceptional growth that many of them have experienced throughout their partnership with us.

Could you list the main achievements or objectives achieved?
In 2023, PayBrokers was honored with several awards, being recognized as the best payment method at renowned events in Brazil and abroad. These awards not only reflect our team's commitment to excellence, but also highlight the trust our customers place in us.

Furthermore, we are very excited about the company's new operational aspect, we took a strategic step by entering the state lotteries market through our payments institution. In this way, we are not only diversifying our services, but also contributing to the modernization and efficiency of this sector in the Brazilian market.

In your sector, what themes or technological advances do you think will dominate the market in 2024? What will be the future trends?
In the financial sector, technology should bring more simplicity and security to transactions, marking a significant evolution in the market. Facial recognition will reduce fraud and artificial intelligence will continue to optimize processes and personalize services. Simplifying payments via Open Finance, especially with Pix, will bring additional efficiency and security.

What is your general opinion about the regulation of the sports betting and online gaming market in Brazil?
The regulation of sports betting and online gaming is very important as it will provide more legal security for operators and players, in addition to increasing revenue for the government. It is important that regulations have clear rules that allow operators to act responsibly, but also with freedom to explore the market in the best way, which will generate more revenue for the State.

What are PayBrokers' main goals/objectives for 2024 in the Brazilian market? And on a global level?
In 2024, PayBrokers' main objective is to continue advancing in the development of innovative solutions. We want to ensure that we not only maintain the standard, but that we constantly raise the level of our services. We are committed to being a driving force in the sector, providing not only Brazilian companies, but also foreign companies, the best possible payments environment.
