Soon, regulatory decrees will be issued

The Ministry of Finance anticipates that not all online games will be allowed

The Special Advisor to the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, José Francisco Manssur, posted on his official LinkedIn account, stating that regulatory decrees on various topics, especially those that still need resolution, will be issued. He also anticipates that permitted games will be defined in the regulations, while others will be prohibited. The ministry's idea is to prohibit games like 'tigrinho' and slot machines that use 'jackpot.'

Manssur listed the next steps the Ministry of Finance will take regarding Law 14,790:

1) Regulatory decrees will be issued on various topics, especially those that need resolution;

2) The Ministry of Finance team and other government agencies and sectors see measures of CARE AND PROTECTION for people as a PRIORITY;

3) Individuals who use their "influence" to advertise betting sites must do so RESPONSIBLY, conveying messages in accordance with the edited norms;

4) Permitted games will be defined in the regulations, and others will be prohibited;

5) Don't bet on "anything goes." Regulation is precisely for the opposite, i.e., to establish rules and limits;

6) Do not doubt the government's ability to regulate, supervise, and punish those who act outside the norms and cause harm to people.

A week ago, Manssur himself had already indicated on his LinkedIn account that "given the characteristics of the games approved in PL 3626, there is nothing that points to the release of game modalities with the characteristic of the so-called 'tigrinho' game."

The advisor added that "no game that does not clearly inform the bettor of the value of their prize if they win the bet will be allowed." "Slot machines that use 'jackpot,' for example, will not be allowed. The 'tigrinho' game is one of those," Manssur concluded.
