ANJL supports seminars on Brazil’s betting market attended by Minister Haddad

Two seminars on the sports betting and online gaming market will take place in São Paulo this week and will have the support of the National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL). The panels will be moderated by the association's president, Plínio Lemos Jorge, and would be attended by the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, the Secretary of Prizes and Bettings, Regis Dudena and the president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, among others.

The first event, this Tuesday (15), will be "Betting on Brazil – for a dignified regulation of games and betting." The event will be hosted by ANJL and the Institute for the Reform of State-Business Relations (IREE) at the Rosewood Hotel in São Paulo.

The event is expected to include the participation of various representatives from the public and private sectors involved in the country's regulatory process, such as the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the Secretary of Prizes and Betting, Regis Dudena.

Plínio will moderate the panel "Betting Oversight: Capital Flight, Money Laundering, and Organized Crime." The panelists will be the Director-General of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues; Criminal Law Professor at USP Pierpaolo Bottini; and lawyers Antônio Carlos de Almeida Castro and Tiago Gomes.

The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is by invitation only. The lectures and debates will be available starting October 17th on the IREETV YouTube channel.

On Friday (18), Casa LIDE (in São Paulo) will host, with the support of ANJL, the seminar "The Impact of the Legalization of Gambling and Casinos in Brazil." The president of ANJL will moderate, alongside journalist Carlos Marques, the panel "Can Gambling and Casinos Contribute to the Development of Brazilian Sports and Culture?"

The panel will feature the participation of the President of the National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation (Conar), Sérgio Pompilio, and the President of the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj), Hazenclever Cançado, among other participants.

The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the registration link to follow online will only be available on the day of the event. It will be broadcast via the address aovivo.lide.com.br. In-person registration will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Casa Lide (Av. Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 2277 – 11th floor).

"These will be important discussions at this crucial moment the sector is experiencing, less than three months before the start of the regulated market in Brazil. We are certain that the key players will attend both events," stated Plínio.

Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries advocates for the interests of its members, the sector, and responsible and ethical gaming, always guided by the promotion of sports, the safety of betting, and contributions to the country's economic development.

Among the members are galera.bet/Playtech, Big Brazil, F12, PagBet, Betnacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, Z.ro Bank, Propane, Paag, Clear Sale, BetBox TV, StarsPay, 1xBet, and PG Soft.
