The modality has already been sold by Caixa with great success and now returns with a new look and more prizes. Part of the proceeds from bets will be allocated to social transfers, contributing to areas essential to the country's development, such as culture, sports, security and social security.
In addition to providing attractive prizes to bettors, Instantânea, like all CAIXA Loterias games, fulfills an important social function.
“Caixa is resuming the sale of a product that is present all over the world. The scratch card was a success in Brazil until 2015 and today we are resuming the sale of this product that is accessible to everyone, with the responsibility of conducting it through the Lotteries, which, since the 1960s, have had the great vocation of distributing not only the gross prize, but also amounts related to public policies," explained Carlos Vieira, President of Caixa.
“This is an important step that we are taking to resume this product for the Brazilian market," he added.
The expectation is to raise approximately R$2.9 billion (US$ 518m) by 2026, a period in which Caixa will explore the scratch card.
The creation of the Instantaneous is supported by Law 13.155/2015, which instituted the Exclusive Instant Lottery, and by Decree 11.675/2023, which regulated its sale.
"For now, the tickets are physical, but a digital version should be launched soon, which will allow players to bet on their cell phones," said the CEO of CAIXA Loterias, Lucíola Aor Vasconcelos.
“We have been working on the project for a long time to bring the emotional memory to everyone, without neglecting social responsibility and concern for responsible gaming,” said Vasconcelos, adding that the scratch card payout is 65%, the highest at Caixa. In other words, one out of every three tickets will win.
How to bet
To play, the bettor simply needs to purchase the ticket at a lottery outlet, scratch the game area and check whether or not they have won according to the instructions. The prize is immediate and amounts of up to R$2,259 (US$ 403) per ticket can be redeemed at lottery outlets. Prizes above this amount must be collected at Caixa branches.
One of the most attractive features of Instantânea is the probability of winning: on average, in each issue of bets, one in three tickets will win. Prizes range from R$2.50 to R$2 million (US$ 0.45 to US$ 357,000). Each issue details this information on the back of the tickets.
Bets cost from R$2.50 to R$20 (US$ 0.45 to US$ 3,57). The prints on the tickets will have different themes and the themes Lucky Clover, Only Gold, Lucky Wheel, Treasure Hunt and VIP will be used for the launch.
