The sector continues to grow rapidly, presenting both challenges and opportunities on a large scale. To give you an idea, according to recent data from the Central Bank, about 24 million people expressed interest in this entertainment model by August of this year.
In this context, Sorte Online, a leading company in the digital lottery brokerage sector for 21 years, takes a firm and proactive stance on gambling regulation in Brazil. The company not only advocates the need for a regulatory framework but also leads by example, adopting practices that prioritize transparency and responsibility.
It was one of 113 companies that applied for licensing by the initial deadline of August 20, through SIGAP (Betting Management System), a technological solution created by the Ministry of Finance to regulate, monitor, and supervise the betting market in the country.
“We believe that regulation is not just a formality, but a commitment to the integrity of the sector and the protection of our customers. It is essential that all companies operate under the same guidelines to ensure a safe, responsible, and reliable environment,” says Márcio Malta, CEO of Sorte Online.
The company gained prominence after its long journey emphasizing best practices in the industry and promoting discussions and educational content on responsible gambling, even before these rules were formalized, which will only come into effect in January of next year.
Among the main rules under discussion are the prohibition of using credit cards and government benefits such as Bolsa Família. The goal is to protect bettors, preventing delinquency and avoiding crimes such as money laundering.
For this reason, many experts see regulation as a turning point that will strengthen companies committed to ethics and customer safety.
“Regulation brings a seal of quality and commitment, differentiating companies that are truly dedicated to building a solid market. For us, regulation should also be seen as a recognition of years of ethical work and continuous effort to build a stronger and more reliable market,” Malta emphasizes.
The statement seems to go in the right direction. Even before the deadline (January 2025), the Federal Government decided to block ''Bets' that, until now, have not even begun their regularization processes. The list of companies that operate in accordance with the regulations was published this Tuesday (2) and those that are illegal will have their websites taken down starting on the 11th – the order will be made official by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).
In this context, the company has stood out. Since its founding, Sorte Online has invested in good practices, creating a robust compliance department that guides all areas of the company, in addition to having a team of experienced executives. This approach is reflected in its reputation on Reclame AQUI, where the company maintains high levels of customer satisfaction.
“Even without formal regulation, we implemented a customer-oriented support system, treating each case individually, with transparency and efficiency. We are here to ensure that Brazilian bettors can continue playing in a safe, responsible environment, knowing that they are interacting with a company that prioritizes good practices,” Malta concludes.
Founded in 2003, the platform stands out in the digital lottery brokerage market, having already distributed approximately R$250 million in prizes to players across the country. With great pioneering spirit and significant investments in technology, Sorte Online offers a complete platform with digital solutions that provide greater ease and security for bettors to place their lottery bets and also have access to well-structured betting pool shares.
Its major market differentiator lies in the use of data intelligence and statistics applied to the platform, exponentially increasing the chances of winning. On its online channel, it is also possible to access tips, news, statistics, odds, and real-time lottery results.
