In this exclusive interview with GMB, Angelo Alberoni, Country Manager of Novibet, talks about the company's growth, strategic partnerships in Brazil and expectations for 2025. He also reveals plans for influencers and brand ambassadors, in addition to commenting on the importance of sports integrity in the new Brazilian legal scenario. “With a track record of more than 15 years in regulated markets and a presence in more than 10 countries, the company has positioned itself as a relevant player in the global betting segment”.

GMB – What is Novibet's secret to staying ahead of so many platforms in the Brazilian market today, since more than 100 companies applied to obtain the license?

Novibet operates in more than 10 regulated countries and has over 15 years of experience. At our HQ in Greece, we have more than 600 engineers and developers constantly working on our proprietary platform, which allows us to adapt our product to the peculiarities of the Brazilian user much faster than our competitors.

Linked to the ownership of the technology, we will have a 100% local operation, which will facilitate decision-making and speed up implementations, giving Novibet a competitive edge over other brands.

What are the main partnerships that Novibet currently has in Brazil? Is there anything new that we can expect in the coming months?
Novibet currently has some strategic partnerships underway in the Brazilian market, whether with media groups or with one of the main football clubs in the Brazilian Championship Series A.

Today, Novibet is ESPN's master sponsor for the football package, in addition to also being the master sponsor of Fortaleza, which has been standing out in a unique way on a national level in 2024. In the coming months, especially in the post-regulation period, Novibet will have even more news, including a team of influencers and an ambassador worthy of the brand.

Not here, but in Greece, Novibet has just closed a new 3-year partnership with the NBA (National Basketball Association). With this agreement, bet has become the first official betting partner of the North American basketball league in Greece.

Does Novibet intend to announce new influencers or brand ambassadors to strengthen its presence in Brazil? What criteria is used to select these people?
Novibet is in the process of defining its marketing strategy for 2025 and we will certainly have a very strong team of influencers representing the brand, in addition to one or more ambassadors who convey our values to the Brazilian public. When choosing influencers, it is very important that these influencers share the brand's basic values ??and are connected to the Brazilian public.

With the license application underway, what are Novibet's expectations for January, when the regulation is expected to be 100% in effect?
We are very pleased with all the regulatory advances so far and believe that the regulated Brazilian market will be one of the most important worldwide. With our experience in market adaptation, Novibet expects to be ready to take advantage of the first months of regulation and gain a leading position in the Brazilian market.

How is Novibet preparing for this regulatory milestone? Are there any special precautions before the granting?
Novibet is very calm at this pre-regulation stage, since we have already gone through this in other jurisdictions, including Greece, our main market.

Therefore, with this previous experience, the transition, including the operational and bureaucratic aspects, despite consuming hours of work in a new market, is something that the brand has experience and is prepared to absorb, starting 2025 as one of the most relevant brands in the Brazilian market.

Has Novibet already confirmed its participation in important events in Brazil, LatAm or abroad in the coming months? What are the objectives?
As an international brand, Novibet always makes its presence felt at the main global events. Last month, we were at SBC Lisbon with our own stand and more than 25 employees, where we won the award for best marketing campaign of the year, which was broadcast in Greece.

This month, I will represent Novibet at SBC Miami as the moderator of a panel about Brazil that will feature André Gelfi, Alexandre Fonseca, João Gerçossimo and other panelists. Next year, we will be here in Brazil at BIS SIGMA and SBC Rio de Janeiro.

What is Novibet's position regarding recent developments in the Brazilian betting market, such as the establishment of regulations and initiatives for sports integrity?
As members of the Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR), we support all measures adopted by the Federal Government towards the Brazilian regulated market, especially with regard to responsible gaming, which goes far beyond the issue of integrity, but also involves advertising restrictions and money laundering.

Therefore, the clearer the regulations related to integrity, Novibet, with all the experience of operating in regulated markets where this issue is already mature, believes that the Brazilian market will be able to demonstrate its full potential and become one of the leaders worldwide.
