Sportingbet offers up to US$23m per year, moves forward to become Palmeiras master sponsor

Sportingbet has emerged as a protagonist in the negotiations to become the new master sponsor of the Palmeiras men's team from 2025, after the end of the partnership with FAM and Crefisa. President Leila Pereira is about to sign a three-season contract with the British bookmaker that will offer around R$118m (US$ 21m) fixed per season. With targets and bonuses for titles throughout the year, the amount could reach R$130m (US$ 23m), for a total of R$390m (US$ 68.5m).

President Leila Pereira confirmed that her companies will stop supporting the club in December of this year, ending a ten-year cycle. Negotiations between Sportingbet and the club's marketing department have been ongoing for months, and although there is still no agreement, the company's offer is the one most welcomed by the club's board of directors.

Leila Pereira had already indicated that it would be healthy to seek new partners and stated that Crefisa and FAM will no longer display their brands on the club's shirt properties.

With the departure of Crefisa and FAM, Palmeiras is seeking a new phase in its sponsorship model, following the growth of agreements with betting houses, which have dominated the sports market in recent years.

Sportingbet is emerging as the favorite to lead this new era of investments in the club, reinforcing the importance of solid and strategic partnerships to ensure Palmeiras' financial and sporting success.

The English have been in the market for 27 years and are one of the sponsors of the Copa Libertadores, which made Leila trust in the bets that operate legally in Brazil.

Values of the contract between SEP and Sportingbet According to data from BolaVip Brasil, Sportingbet will offer around R$118 million (US$ 21m) fixed per season to Palmeiras, that is, a total of R$356 million (US$ 62.5m) at the end of the 2025-2027 period for the space on the green and white jersey. To give an idea, Crefisa currently pays only R$81 million (US$ 14.25m) fixed annually.

With goals and bonuses for titles throughout the year, the amount that the British can fill the Football Academy's coffers would rreach R$130m (US$ 23m), for a total of R$390m (US$ 68.5m). Palmeiras has not spent a season "blank" since 2019.

Two more sponsors on Palmeiras jersey

The idea of the ‘Verdão’ board is to fill the jersey with revenues of up to R$150 million (US$ 26.5m) per year. Sportingbet has already filled an important gap. As remote as it may be, Crefisa could continue to be on the uniform in one of the other spaces, but Leila seems to be committed to other efforts.

Unlike the current exclusivity model, the next sponsor will not have this clause, allowing Palmeiras to negotiate other properties of the shirt with different companies, such as Puma and Crefisa.

It is worth mentioning that Puma, the current supplier of sports equipment, recently renewed its contract with Palmeiras for another three years. The Germans pay around R$50 million (US$ 8.75m) a year in fixed terms, not counting the goals for titles.

Leila, who is the favorite for reelection to continue as president of the club, expressed a preference for a solid foreign betting house with a long history, such as Sportingbet, which already sponsors Conmebol competitions, such as the Libertadores and the South American, and invests in football transfers through Globo.
