Government updates list of authorized ‘Bets’ in Brazil and adds four more companies

According to the Ministry of Finance, companies and brands that had been left out by mistake were included, as well as those whose suitability and origin of the funds were questioned.

"Due to errors in the notification reception system, three nominations made in accordance with the requirements and deadlines were not included in the first published national list. In addition, a company and its brands were included in the list after confirmation that the request had been duly signed by a legal representative authorized by the company," said the Ministry of Finance, in a statement.

On Monday (30), the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated that up to 600 online betting sites will be banned in Brazil in the coming days for presenting irregularities in relation to the legislation approved by the National Congress.

He recommended that players withdraw funds on these sites, to avoid losing the money. A period of ten days was given, starting this Tuesday (1), to withdraw funds deposited in companies that do not obtain permission.

Haddad announced that the government will adopt new measures and will enforce stricter rules that are already in force – such as monitoring bets by CPF, limiting payment methods and regulating advertising by companies.
