In partnership with Movimento União BR, SOFTSWISS ensured the delivery of food, drinking water and essential items to the communities most affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul between April and August 2024. The emergency phase of the project resulted in direct assistance to hundreds of families, helping to meet basic needs at a critical time.
"Our dedication to Brazil is ongoing, and this aid was a way to repay the trust that the country has placed in us. We now have employees in the region and, given the recent difficulties, standing idly by was not an option," said Ivan Montik, founder of SOFTSWISS.
SOFTSWISS recently appointed renowned Brazilian former Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello as Non-Executive Director for Latin America, with the aim of becoming more actively involved in the Brazilian scene. This decision not only helps the business, but also expands the charity project into a long-term initiative.
"When we started this charitable project, I was convinced that it should not be just a one-off financial aid. The immediate crisis passes and first aid is provided, but people are left to deal with all the ecological and social consequences. I am happy that the company shares my beliefs and is committed to a serious and long-term approach," said Barrichello.
In addition to providing immediate relief, the company has invested in actions to help reduce the impact of future climate disasters. As part of its sustainability initiatives, it has implemented water purification systems in two schools in Rio Grande do Sul, ensuring constant access to clean water for more than 300 families.
The project also includes educational programs, teaching students and teachers about the importance of preserving natural resources and how to address the challenges posed by climate change.
The installation of the purification systems, carried out in partnership with PW Tech, is already directly benefiting more than 100 students and staff at local schools, with a lasting impact on the affected regions. The success of SOFTSWISS’s initiatives goes beyond emergency relief.
The company has reinforced its mission to promote sustainability by integrating these preventive actions into its social responsibility strategy. The water purification project, for example, not only meets the immediate needs of schools, but also acts as a defense against future emergencies caused by climate change.
The charity project in Brazil has been followed by several other philanthropic efforts around the world, reflecting SOFTSWISS’s commitment to being a socially responsible company.
The company recently provided aid to those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and the floods in Poland, among other global initiatives. Over the past two years, SOFTSWISS has donated over US$2 million to support charitable causes.
