Commitment to regulation and responsible gaming

ANJL has 100% of its associated betting houses legalized in Brazil

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) announced that all its associated betting houses are legalized, joining the list of companies published by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance. For the entity, the full adherence of the ‘Bets’ – as operators are locally called - demonstrates its commitment to the regulation of the sector in Brazil and to responsible gaming.

All betting houses that are legalized will continue to operate in Brazil normally until the effective start of the regulated market, scheduled for January 1, 2025. Until then, the country is experiencing what the Treasury itself defined, through Ordinance 1,475, as a period of adaptation.

The regulatory process has been extremely rigorous, which gives the market and bettors the certainty that a safe environment for betting is being created in Brazil. This initial list of companies, linked to 205 brands, is an important filter for the sector, even if it is not definitive,” assesses the President of ANJL, Plínio Lemos Jorge.

The association considers, however, that as of January 1st, many serious companies that were unable to submit their license application in time for the adaptation period, that is, before the publication of Ordinance 1,475, will have their applications approved.

On this Thursday (3rd, around 3:15 pm), the Betting Management System (Sigap) of the Ministry of Finance had 183 companies that requested the license. In other words, there is still a considerable number to be analyzed. With this, we believe that the current list tends to increase as of next year,” adds Plínio.

With the confirmation of the companies authorized by the Finance, ANJL members are already implementing the Seal of Adequacy on their platforms, launched by the entity on Tuesday (1st). The measure will help bettors to immediately identify, visually, that they are playing on a legalized platform.

Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries defends the interests of its members, the sector and responsible and honest gaming, always guided by the promotion of sports, the security of bets and the contribution to the economic development of the country.

Among the members are galera.bet/Playtech, Big Brazil, F12, PagBet, Betnacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, Z.ro Bank, Propane, Paag, Clear Sale, BetBox tv, StarsPay, 1xBet and PG Soft.
