One of them is the bill by the government leader in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues, which intends to prohibit the advertising of the ‘Bets’ – as operators are called in Brazil-, including the sponsorship of sporting events and clubs.
Currently, betting houses sponsor 19 of the 20 Brazilian Série A clubs. Betano, in fact, owns the naming rights for the competition.
The other bill is from government politician Jorge Kajuru and prohibits, under any circumstances, betting houses from allowing bets that attempt to predict election results.
It is also worth noting that, in September, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) officially banned betting on the results of municipal elections in the country. The PSB senator is now seeking to ban betting at the state and federal levels as well.
Damares promises hard-hitting reports, showing the social damage caused by betting houses, such as the recent reports of addiction reported by users who lost everything, and even the use of the Bolsa Família card for sports betting.
