GMB - What new products did Light & Wonder present at the SBC Summit Latinoamérica?
Tatiana García Barrenechea - Our main objective at this fair was to showcase our offering to operators throughout the region. In most Latin American countries, where land-based casinos play a crucial role, we already have a consolidated position thanks to the success of our games.
In the case of Brazil, where there are still no regulated land-based games, we will meet with several local operators to discuss the offering of our Light & Wonder brand, including the studios we have acquired in recent years, such as Playzido and Elk, available exclusively through Light & Wonder. We are very excited to bring this superior digital content to Latin American markets such as Colombia and Brazil in the coming months.
We are also excited to launch INFINITY in Latin America in 2025: a content marketplace with infinite possibilities. This offering includes the best games and promotional tools for all regulated markets.
The INFINITY offering encompasses the largest and most trusted iGaming network. The industry’s best game studios, offering more choice and variety than any other platform. Gaming Services: Full product and service support, from marketing tools to collaborative marketing services that can act as an extension of the client’s team. Elevate: Our marketing tools that help increase the player lifecycle.
What is your opinion on the current state of the Latin American market and how the company is operating in it?
Latin America is an extremely interesting region with great potential. We have seen significant growth from many of the largest operators in these markets, and there is no doubt that Latin America is the region of the future for iGaming.
Our strategy is to enter new markets as soon as they are regulated. We work closely with our land-based casino team to understand which games and mechanics are popular in these environments and adapt them to the digital world, always adjusting to local preferences in terms of mechanics and stake levels.
In addition, we offer exceptional digital content from our studios ELK and Playzido, as well as partner studios such as Reel Play, Hacksaw and Wazdan, among others.
The Brazilian market is experiencing the best moment in its history. How can Light & Wonder take advantage of this and what are the plans for Brazil?
Light & Wonder has been developing a strategy for Brazil since the signing of the regulation at the end of last year. Our goal is to become the leading content provider in the country.
Our approach includes a local entity of Light & Wonder Brasil to streamline agreements and payments, a solid platform and integration (OGS (AWS) LatAm, with infrastructure in São Paulo, ensuring stability and performance), content fully localized in Portuguese and Brazilian currency.
In addition, we have RTP options between 94% and 96% for most games, optimization for high volume adapted to the characteristics of the Brazilian market, digital adaptation (successful content in physical casinos adapted to the digital environment), innovative digital content offered by ELK studios, Playzido and more than 45 partners available through our aggregator.
As the year comes to a close, how does Light & Wonder assess 2024?
2024 was a year of great focus and expansion into new markets in Latin America. We entered Peru, Buenos Aires Province and Paraguay, and continued to sign agreements with key operators throughout the region. Light & Wonder remains committed to Latin American markets, bringing world-class gaming content to the digital environment.
What plans and objectives can you share for 2025?
We already have a presence in São Paulo, which gives us an advantage. We are. We are prepared to enter the regulated Brazilian market on January 1st and continue to expand our presence in Latin American markets. We intend to bring more favorite mechanics from land-based casinos to the online world, along with our new Elevate tools.
We are also keeping a close eye on the ongoing regulations in markets such as Chile, which is strategic for us, given that, like Argentina and Mexico, land-based casinos are part of the local culture and our games already perform very well in these countries.
We also hope to continue working closely with our operators and gaming partners in Latin America, positioning Light & Wonder as a strategic partner and market share leader, as we already are in key markets such as Canada and the United States, where we are among the leading iGaming providers.
