The Sílvio Santos Group submitted its application for a license to operate sports betting and online gaming to the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA within the deadline set by the government and, with the progress of the regulatory process, entered into a partnership with OpenBet, one of the most renowned iGaming providers in the world, to use its platform.
The Group took a big step and made the “right choice” by appointing the experienced Brazilian gaming and lottery professional, Waldir Eustáquio Marques Jr. as its director of government relations. Recognized worldwide for his successful career in the sector, Waldir was undersecretary of lotteries at the Ministry of Finance and president of Loterias CAIXA. He also heads the regulatory affairs area at WA.Technology.
With this, Waldir Marques works on two different fronts in the regulated gaming market in Brazil, heading TQJ in the B2C area, and at WA.Technology, a global company focused on B2B business.
When announcing the approval of TQJ's documentation by the SPA, Waldir Marques stated that “TQJ's executives are extremely happy to be part of a regulated market and to follow all Brazilian regulations. This is an important step in our commitment to corporate social responsibility, especially with responsible gaming.”
“I am immensely grateful to the Todos Querem Jogar - TQJ team for their hard work and dedication, and I congratulate Marc Crean for his trust and unconditional support. Together, we are ready to make a difference in this new chapter of our growth,” he concluded.
