As specified in the accreditation by Loterj, betting companies must adopt the best national and international compliance practices, including an integrity program and security measures for game operations, integrating a betting monitoring body.
They are also required to implement a responsible gaming program, with measures to protect gamblers with gambling addiction and minors, as well as mechanisms to prevent money laundering, terrorism financing, and game manipulation, among other obligations.
“We have established modern and stringent requirements for betting house accreditation, ensuring a safe environment where responsible gaming practices play a crucial role in protecting gamblers,” states Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, president of Loterj.
Security and integrity in Gaming
Licensed operator BIG Brazil | Caesars Sportsbook has implemented a rigorous responsible gaming policy to operate in the country. “We are committed to providing our customers with a distinctive entertainment experience. In addition to being 100% compliant with state and federal regulations, we have a strict responsible gaming policy,” emphasizes André Feldman, CEO of BIG Brazil.
“Our platform offers resources such as self-assessment, self-exclusion, and even forced exclusion based on player behavior analysis conducted by our compliance team. We also have partnerships with organizations that support players with gambling addiction, such as Gamblers Anonymous and Game Therapy,” he adds.
Feldman notes that the platform requires a series of personal documents from bettors to ensure compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) standards, as well as verifying that the user is of legal age and financially capable of using the operator’s services.
“The information is verified by cross-referencing customer data and documents with public administration databases. Additionally, facial biometrics will be required as mandated by federal legislation,” he stresses.
Certification and practices against gambling addiction
Operating under three fundamental principles—player safety, game safety, and protection against gambling issues—BestBet CEO Paulo Roberto Nogueira informs that after obtaining ISO 37001 and ISO 37301 certifications, the company is beginning its affiliation with international RGF (Responsible Game Framework) organizations to apply best practices against gambling addiction, among other issues.
“For player safety, we offer mechanisms for users to manage their platform usage, such as value limits and pause periods. Currently, we have chosen not to offer bonuses or flash campaigns, nor do we use affiliate programs, to maintain complete control over the agents promoting bets and online games,” he explains.
“In terms of safety and gambling issues, the platform is certified by Cibelae. We adhere to strict standards, from checking customer CPF with the Federal Revenue to confirm legal age (18 and above) to generating internal alerts that might indicate a problem in the bettor’s activity,” says Nogueira.
Support for a safe experience
Fully committed to promoting responsible gaming, ViaBet has adopted strategies for user safety, such as mandatory age verification to ensure that all players are over 18 years old.
“We use KYC processes and integrate advanced technologies like facial recognition at login and in financial transactions, along with multiple verifications of registered CPFs. These processes ensure the authenticity of user data and prevent minors and other restricted profiles from accessing our platform,” says Pedro Waite, director of operations. ViaBet also provides educational materials on safe gaming behavior.
“We offer resources like betting limits, self-exclusion options, educational materials, and, combined with that, our dedicated support team is always available to assist our players, reinforcing our commitment to a safe and healthy experience for all,” highlights Waite.
Entertainment and responsibility
Customer respect and satisfaction are priorities for BPX Group (Vaidebet, Obabet, and Betpix365). “Our greatest asset has always been the trust of each of our customers across Brazil. For this reason, we comply with all existing rules and regulations in the country, as well as promoting responsible gaming. We bring quality entertainment to thousands of people every day in an accessible way,” states CEO Matheus Rocha.
“But we know that enjoyment only happens with balance. That’s why our platforms are equipped with technological resources for age verification, documentation, and even facial recognition. In addition to technology, we have a team prepared to serve our customers in a human way, 24 hours a day. This allows us to identify possible signs of gambling addiction and any disorder that could lead the user to negative scenarios,” he adds.
“In addition, our system has a section where the client can set various types of limits. Customer respect and satisfaction are our priorities. For us, fun is synonymous with responsibility,” he concludes.
