With the regulation of sports betting in Brazil, betting companies must adopt identification procedures that allow them to verify the validity of bettors' identities, requiring the use of facial identification and recognition technology, as determined by Law 14,790.
In addition, four ordinances from the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) established specific procedures on this topic – and all measures must be implemented by companies in the sector by 2025.
With Valida Bets launched by Serasa Experian, the bookmaker will have a complete tool that complies with the mandatory identity validation procedures throughout the bettor's digital journey.
The tool includes advanced registration with KYC, facial biometrics, geolocation, tampering with the operating system and malware, identification of suspicious behavior and a robust combination of document validation solutions.
In addition to the use of facial recognition and validation of restrictive lists, Serasa's list of resources includes proprietary technologies for assessing economic and financial capacity, analyzing the device and identifying bettors prohibited from betting due to sports ties, checking whether the consumer is a politically exposed person and people restricted for money laundering.
In addition to this, there are other solutions aimed at preventing fraud related to the creation of fake and shell accounts, bonus abuse and other types of fraud.
