The meeting, which brought together around 4,000 executives and representatives from over 20 countries, took place at a strategic moment. This is because the Brazilian betting market is going through a regulatory phase, emerging as a key component for building a fairer and more responsible environment for consumers, while also creating a more balanced competitive arena for companies in the sector.
Moderator of the panel "Insights on Lotteries - Analysis of Lottery Markets in Brazil," Thiago Balieiro discussed the growth of state and municipal lotteries and the challenges facing the sector.
"Being the moderator of such a diverse panel on lotteries was incredible - in this market revolution, distinguishing the betting segment from lotteries is important, as they are distinct products with different strategies and future scenarios. What they have in common is the interest in innovating, ensuring responsible gaming, and social responsibility," he highlights.
Among other topics, the conversation shed light on the expansion of local lotteries in Brazil, with municipalities structuring their own activities, opening new opportunities for operators, investors, and the market itself.
To illustrate the importance of the matter, recent data from the Central Bank reveals that more than 24 million people showed interest in this entertainment model as of August this year.
In addition to Balieiro, the company was also represented by Felipe Maximino, VP of Technology and Operations, in a panel titled “PSPs and Operators - A Collaborative Approach in Brazil.”
As the panel moderator, Maximino addressed the importance of partnership between operators and payment providers, especially when entering new markets, where factors such as regulation, consumer safety, and emerging technologies play a crucial role.
Alongside approximately 70 exhibitors, the fair hosted more than 200 lectures by experts on various topics, including regulation, sports betting, casinos (both physical and online), lotteries, and marketing, among other subjects that underscore the growing relevance of the betting market in Latin America.
"With regulation advancing in Brazil, this is a sector seeking to balance innovation and social responsibility, offering a safe and competitive environment that promotes transparency and consumer protection. We need to have these discussions now to ensure this promising future for everyone," he concludes.
