Representatives from more than 50 countries participated in the BSOP stages this year, from all continents, among the approximately 100,000 entries throughout 2024.
Devanir Campos, co-CEO of BSOP, says: “10 million-dollar prizes were offered to players, in different tournaments, another unprecedented achievement for BSOP. Last year, approximately R$125 million (US$ 20.8m) was distributed in prizes and this number rose to approximately R$200 million (US$ 33m) in 2024.”
In terms of prizes in a single event, BSOP Millions 2023 held the record, with more than R$72 million (US$ 12m) distributed. This year, BSOP Millions 2024 surpassed this mark - by far - reaching more than R$96 million (US$ 16m).
During the event, three tournaments broke individual prize records, which were R$1.5 million (US$ 250,000): Super High Roller, which distributed R$1.9 million (US$ 317,000); and the unprecedented BSOP Championship, which distributed R$2.1 million (US$ 350,000); and The Legends, whose R$3.5 million (US$ 585,000 prize pool was the largest ever awarded in a poker tournament held in Brazil.
With this result, the two biggest events of the year, Winter Millions and Millions, each gained an extra day in 2025. According to Devanir, “the projection is for new records, especially in these two events. The aim is to reach around 30% of new audiences and increase revenue by 20% to 25% in 2025, which was around R$50 million in 2024.”
The next season already has a start date: the first event will be from February 6 to 11, in Costa do Sauípe (Bahia). To check out all the details about the BSOP, just visit the official website.
