Through taxes in five months

First Loterj-licensed ‘Bet’ Rio Jogos has already injected more than US$165k to Brazil's economy

Rio Jogos, the first Rio de Janeiro betting house licensed by Loterj, injected more than R$1 million (US$165,000) into the Brazilian economy between June and October 2024 through the payment of taxes to the Federal Government. In addition to being up to date with all tax obligations, the company employs more than 50 employees and indirectly benefits around 850 people, including family members, partners and service providers.

The company also pays for 100% of the undergraduate or postgraduate courses of employees who need to train to take on new positions or adapt to the job market, in addition to offering benefits such as transportation vouchers, food/meal vouchers, health insurance, dental insurance and Gympass.

“I am very proud to be able to witness the positive impact of Rio Jogos in the economic and social spheres. At the state level, we promote dignity and quality of life for dozens of families by creating jobs and investing in projects and actions aimed at the most vulnerable segments of society through Loterj,” said Alexandre Guedes, the company’s president.

“Meanwhile, at the federal level, the fiscal support allows our work to go beyond state borders, reaching millions of citizens throughout Brazil through public policies,” he added.

The company expects to increase its workforce by 50% in the first half of 2025. For the second half of the same year, the company estimates a 400% increase in the number of families directly benefited compared to the same period in 2024.

One of the first brands to apply for a federal license, Rio Jogos has been 100% legal since the start of operations in June 2024, when it already had a license from the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj).

Through Loterj, the company operates in programs to help people in social vulnerability, such as recovering drug addicts and reintegrating children into society, in addition to actions to encourage sports and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
