Also participating in the lecture were the secretary general of the Paraná Football Federation (FPF), Robson Seerig, the assistant of the Legal Department of Coritiba, Matheus Augusto Brambilla Bertasso, and the supervisor of the U-17 category, Adan Douglas dos Santos.
These lecture series with football clubs and professionals in the area are a partnership between Lottopar and the Paraná Football Federation and aim to promote education for sports integrity.
The content addresses rules, regulations and legislation that prohibit athletes from participating in betting, with emphasis on Ordinance No. 67/2024 from Lottopar. It prohibits the registration and placing of bets by any person who has or may have influence on the outcome of a sports-themed event, which includes athletes, managers, coaches, trainers, referees and referee assistants.
The content was produced by the autarchy based on its experience in regulation and also on the exchange of experiences with the largest responsible gaming and sports integrity institutions in the world, with which Lottopar is associated, including the Union of Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (Ulis), which is one of the largest sports monitoring companies in the world.
For Lottopar's Operations Director, Fabio Veiga, this opening of doors by Coritiba represents the institutions' concern in increasingly seeking sports integrity.
“We thank Coritiba for the opportunity to share our experience as a governing body in the betting sector with the athletes, as this shows that everyone is increasingly seeking a sports environment with the highest levels of sports integrity. Athletes should never bet, and in Paraná, with the regulation of the sector, monitoring is even more intense.”
Cooperation with the FPF
In October, Lottopar signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Paraná Football Federation (FPF). The objective is to develop actions focused on sports integrity, ensuring safe and responsible gaming in the sports betting environment and also addressing sports integrity.
Lottopar has promoted training, lectures and other activities aimed at FPF members, the Arbitration Committee and the general public, as well as football clubs, with the aim of providing guidance on codes of conduct, preventing match-fixing and the risks associated with illegal practices in betting.
The term also seeks to raise awareness of the consequences of non-compliance with sporting regulations and contribute to the safe regulation of the sector, promoting the protection of those involved and the integrity of competitions.
