On January 31st, the first meeting took place between Febralot - Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies and executives from Caixa Econômica Federal from the gaming, IT, and Network areas. The president of Caixa Loterias, Lucíola Aor Vasconcelos, gave a presentation confirming that the Vice Presidency of Government Funds had reactivated the company Caixa Loterias S.A., a subsidiary with 100% capital owned by the bank.
The reactivation aims to provide focus and agility to the lottery business. This need arises mainly from the current market demand for gaming, with the recent legislative regularization of fixed odds betting, with the gaming area to be divided with SUALO - National Lottery Superintendence of the bank.
Caixa Loterias will have its own management, budget, and IT, and although the BETs do not yet have their own decree, work began in 2023 to define models through qualitative research, which includes lottery houses in the physical model.
The Executive informed that Caixa is working with the expectation of launching BETs Caixa still in 2024, with scaled results for early 2025. The company hired Ernst & Young, one of the world's largest multinational firms, to structure the most suitable business model, in an agreement for one year.
Another launch to be made by Caixa Loterias is Lotex, which already has a decree from the Ministry of Finance and is expected to be launched in March, depending on partnership bidding issues.
Designs, face values, and prize values are already planned. The commissioning of the network is being studied by Caixa and will be presented to the Ministry of Finance for communication to the network.
