According to Ancelmo Gois' column in O Globo, the lawsuit was filed by a lawyer who points out that the Al-Hilal forward continues to promote Blaze's platform on social media, even after complaints and legal actions from consumers.
The player was announced as the ambassador of the platform in December 2022, with a contract that was signed for four years.
The deal between Neymar and the betting company was brokered by his father and the family's marketing agency, N&N Consultoria, for a total amount of R$ 45 million (US$ 9m).
Blaze was even taken offline by court order due to the large number of customer complaints, non-payment of winnings, accusations of money laundering and fraud, and promoting unauthorized games, such as the infamous "tigrinho game."
In late November, a judge in São Paulo ordered the unblocking of the Blaze website after more than two months of being prevented from offering its services, although the betting company had created mirror sites to continue operating.
However, Blaze's situation remains quite delicate. As the main sponsor of Santos, Neymar's former club, it risks losing the prime space on the jersey, where it has been since April last year, to Parimatch.
In addition to the new offer from Parimatch, Santos is uncomfortable with the numerous negative news about Blaze that dominated the headlines especially last year. Santos wants these allegations to serve as a legal loophole for terminating the contract without paying a penalty.
