A few minutes after announcing the termination of the contract with the former master sponsor, Sport Club do Recife had already announced a new brand to display the most noble space on its shirt. It was up to singer Wesley Safadão to make the announcement, this Sunday (4), during a carnival preview, in Olinda.
The singer from Ceará, already holding a red-black shirt with the new sponsor, informed that BetVip, a Pixbet Group company, signed a link with the Pernambuco team. Wesley Safadão even shouted "cazá, cazá", accompanied by the fans, and put on his uniform after the announcement.
“The news that I learned just now, which I want to share with you, is that first-hand for you, Betvip is the new sponsor of Sport. So what is it like, what will it be like and will it forever be like? (cazá, cazá),” said the singer.
According to Raphael Quirino, representative of the company's marketing department, the contract signed is for three years. “We are still going to make it official, but the contract is for three years. Details will be given throughout this week,” he said.
Subsequently, Sport itself published confirmation of the new sponsor on social media, also with a video with singer Wesley Safadão.
Betnacional had been sponsoring the club for two years, and still had a contract in force until the end of this season. Sport's termination goes against the terms of the contract with Betnacional and could put the club in financial difficulties.
“Sport Club do Recife communicates the termination of the contract with Betnacional. The club is grateful for the partnership over recent years with the company,” Sport summarized in a statement. The tendency, however, is for the case to be prosecuted.
Who owns Betvip?
Betvip is part of the Pixbet Group. Wesley Safadão is one of the project partners, who recently launched the betting site.
The Pixbet Group is led by Paraíba businessman Ernildo Júnior. The project together with Safadão from Betvip has grown impressively. Including heating up the X1 and ‘vaquejada’ (sport typical to the Brazil’s Northeast, in which two cowboys on horseback pursue a bull) market.
Additionally, Betvip sponsors several digital influencers and celebrities. Among them, comedians Tirulipa and Rafael Cunha.
In a video released by Sport, Wesley Safadão celebrated Betvip's agreement with Leão. "What an honor to now be part of the Maior do Nordeste," he commented.
