Since 2018, with the enactment of Law No. 13,756/2018, which regulates "fixed-odds betting", a specific type of sports betting, the betting landscape in Brazil has changed. Today, sports betting companies are extremely present in the market, promoting their platforms across all digital and analog channels.

This scenario is still taking its first steps, as new regulations on the subject, notably Law No. 14,790/2023, bring important novelties regarding the topic, regulating aspects that were previously not addressed. The new regulation also includes provisions on betting on real sports-themed events (bets), online gaming in virtual environments, Fantasy Sports, and lotteries.
