Broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, the card will feature Caio Machado, member of the EDS Squad, known as Esquadrão EDS, the EDS Group's MMA team. Machado has 25 fights on his journey, totaling 17 victories.
LFA 179 would also feature Nicoly Pedroza, another member of the Esportes da Sorte team. Undefeated in her career, with 5 wins, Nicoly is tipped to join the UFC's bantamweight category, but her rival, Tayna Lamounier, didn't make weight, and the fight was cancelled.

Many successful names in the UFC came from the LFA, so Dana White, head of the organization, will be keeping an eye on the fights taking place in Rio. Former champions such as Kamaru Usman, Henry Cejudo, Brandon Moreno, Valentina Shevchenko and Holly Holm have climbed the ladder of LFA to reach the UFC.
The LFA visited cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Outside of the United States, Brazil is the only country that has stopovers from the organization. The Esportes da Sorte brand will be inserted in the octagon, on the big screens, in the weigh-in and interview backdrops, in addition to being mentioned by the announcer throughout the event..
