GMB - What does it mean to you to participate in a fair of the gaming sector as a Betsson ambassador?
Zé Roberto - It is actually one of the biggest fairs in the segment today. I came at the invitation of Betsson, which is my betting company partner. I'm an ambassador and, of course, this event also allows for a lot of networking, a lot of exchanges. We see today that in SBC it is possible to connect with other betting operators from abroad, with many other companies that have been in the sector for many years.
I came at the invitation of Betsson to speak, to talk a little about my career. My pilot lecture, which I constantly give in various segments of corporate sport, is called “High Performance Strategies”. Performance is necessary for any area of our life. As I have performed basically my entire career, and continue to perform, I understand the importance of taking care of your health, of taking care of your post-career, of having a plan. I encompass all of this today. Basically, I came to meet new people too, life gives us that.
Is performance in betting fundamental, both for the bettor and for the operators themselves, who have to offer a quality product, as is the case with Betsson?
Absolutely. Today, with regulation, I believe it's possible for people to earn some extra income, meaning to have their profession and at the same time place their bets, make their predictions, and seek to monetize in an area that is booming in Brazil - betting, which will be regulated. Today, companies are at the fair to network and, each one within their betting company, to exchange experiences and help each other out.
What does it mean for you to represent Betsson as a global brand ambassador?
It means a lot. When I received several proposals, I made the choice knowing that Betsson is very serious in the industry, and to link our image to the area that is growing the most today in Brazil and worldwide, it needs to always be with a serious company. That's why Betsson was the one I chose to be at the forefront today, within this betting segment. It's very important to link my image to such an important company as Betsson, both as a former athlete and in relation to other things I do. Being connected with such a big company makes everyone win.
Have you been participating in events around the world with Betsson?
Absolutely. The last time was during the World Cup qualifiers in Peru last year. During the match against Peru. Betsson has many clients there. We interacted with them during and before the game as well, along with a dinner and some promotions. We brought some jerseys from clubs where I played, from the National Team, and took photos. This interaction will continue this year, as it's a very challenging year for everyone. We have a cool schedule where customers will be able to have this closeness with the idol. Betsson recently partnered with Paulo Guerreiro, a Peruvian player who has been at several clubs in Brazil, played in Germany at two clubs with me, so we're close. In 2024, there will be many cool things happening.
Surely Betsson will have major actions to promote the brand during the Olympics?
Certainly, we won't give any spoilers now, but there's still the Copa America in the United States. That's why we have some very interesting actions and I'm very motivated. It's a challenging year, and we're going to achieve a lot together.
A challenging year and a year of victories for both you and Betsson?
Exactly. This union was born for that. So that we can, with my experience and Betsson's market expertise, bring to customers what helps them grow alongside sports betting in Brazil and beyond.
