With a public hearing on sports betting, SIGA debates the future of Brazilian football

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), the largest independent and neutral coalition in the area of Integrity in Sport, organizes the Inaugural Conference and Public Hearing of the Independent Study on the Future of Football in Brazil, organized by SIGA LATIN AMERICA, in partnership with the Parliamentary Front for the Modernization of Football. The event takes place at the MorumBIS Stadium, in São Paulo, and will have a panel dedicated to the sports betting market.

Awaited with growing expectations, this conference will provide a privileged opportunity for discussion and debate on the most significant aspects of Brazilian football. It is expected to collect important contributions to the development of the Independent Study.

In addition to opening and closing sessions with prominent national and international leaders, and high-level panels with experts on various topics such as the sports betting market, five public hearings are planned to actively involve all interested parties in this broad consultation process. 

At 3pm, experts such as Tiago Horta, Head of integrity, Genius Sports, will debate “Sports Betting in Brazil: Legislation, Regulation and Integrity” and then start (3:40pm) a public hearing on the topic.

SIGA has just announced the first personalities who will be in action at the high-level conference on March 11th, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The list of speakers highlights several leading figures from all sectors of the football industry, including (alphabetical order):

Commissioned to SIGA by the Parliamentary Front for the Modernization of Brazilian Football, chaired by Federal Deputy Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, the Independent Study aims to prepare a rigorous and objective diagnosis of the current situation of football in the country, involving all relevant stakeholders and entities. It will be a neutral, independent and inclusive process, and will seek to build consensus around appropriate solutions for the current and future challenges of Brazilian football.

The general coordinator of the Study will be the Global CEO of SIGA and President & CEO of SIGA LATIN AMERICA, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros. With vast experience accumulated over three decades of dedication to Law, Sport and Integrity, and holding top positions in European and world football, as well as others at FIFA and UEFA, the executive brings strategic vision, leadership capacity and knowledge depth of the football industry.

Participation in the Conference is free, but requires prior registration. Places are limited.
