Loterj will participate in CIBELAE sports betting conference next week

Loterj will land in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, next week for the CIBELAE 2024 Conference, which will have the theme “Sports Betting in Latin America: approaches for a developing market”. Represented by President Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, this will be the municipality's first official participation as a regular member of the board of directors of the Ibero-American Corporation of State Lotteries and Betting.

During the event, there will be a meeting of the Organization's Board of Directors.

“Joining CIBELAE ratifies the agency’s actions in favor of regulating the market, promoting responsible gambling and combating fraud, gambling and tax evasion,” highlights the president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado.

From Brazil, the organizers confirmed the presence of Lottopar’s president, Daniel Romanowski: the deputy secretary Simone Vicentini and the responsible gaming monitoring coordinator Letícia Soeiro, both from the Prizes and Betting Secretariat; Lucíola Aor Vasconcelos, VP of Loterias CAIXA; Fernando Cesconetto, inspector at the Public Ministry of Goiás; Valter Delfraro Jr., business development and government relations executive at GLI; Ricardo Feijó, legal and compliance director at PayBrokers, and Roberto Brasil Fernandes (lawyer)

The Conference takes place on April 18th and 19th and will bring together experts, regulators and industry representatives to exchange knowledge and good practices, in addition to promoting the construction of a solid, ethical and responsible scenario for sports betting in Latin America.

It will also count on the collaboration of the Council of Europe (COE), dedicated to the promotion of human rights, democracy and the rule of law; from United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), which supports state lotteries in their mission to ensure integrity and combat crime in sports.

During the two-day event, regulatory models, technological trends, the economic and social impact of sports betting, the fight against manipulation of sports competitions, the current scenario and a possible future of sports betting in Latin America, among others, will be discussed.
