The gaming and betting area has a multidisciplinary approach with the aim of advising companies to be incorporated in Brazil, assisting in corporate operations, working on procedures to obtain authorization to operate betting in the country, as well as organizing policies, among other legal demands.
The lawyers will also assist strategic departments in this ecosystem, such as technology contracts, advertising issues, interface with sports clubs and influencers, for example.
"This is the year of the betting law in Brazil and we entered this market with a team of experts in all strategic segments of this ecosystem. We followed the debate in the National Congress, from the presentation of the proposal in the Chamber to the sanction of the law last December We are prepared to guide players interested in regulatory issues in the sector,” says Pedro Simões, coordinator of the gaming and betting area at Veirano.
To formalize the launch of the new division, Veirano will promote an event on April 22, in partnership with Pay4Fun and IBJR - Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming. It will be in its São Paulo office, with the participation of market specialists, game operators, among other representatives of the sector, providing opportunities for relationships, exchange of ideas and new business.
Estimates from the Central Bank indicate that the formalized online betting market generated R$54 billion (US$ 10.5bn) from January to November 2023. The Ministry of Finance intends to collect at least R$2 billion (US$ 390m) in taxes this year by regulating the sector.
