Government defines codes for revenue from sports betting, online gambling and Lotex

Ordinance 113/2024 was published in the Official Gazette this Monday (29), which defines codes on revenue from sports betting. Edited by the Federal Budget Secretary of the Ministry of Planning, the measure establishes the budget classifications for grants, prescribed premiums and inspection fees for operators and for free distribution of premiums. The grant to Lotex was also included.

SOF/MPO Ordinance No. 113/2024, published by the Federal Budget Secretariat of the Ministry of Planning and Budget, deals with budget classifications by source/destination of resources and by nature of revenue for application within the scope of the Union.

With the measure, the government takes another step in the process of regulating sports betting and online gaming, defining specific codes for the activity.

To improve the budget process, the Ministry of Planning included revenue from sports betting, free distribution of prizes and Lotex grants, in the Annex to Ordinance SOF/ME 5.118/2021, the following types of revenue:

1.3.3.9.01.0.0 - Granting of Fixed Odds Betting Lottery

1.9.3.1.10.0.0 - Prescribed Fixed Odds Betting Lottery Prizes

1.1.2.1.08.0.0 - Inspection Fee Due for Commercial Operation of Fixed-Odds Betting Lottery

1.2.1.09.0.0 - Authorization Fee for Free Distribution of Prizes

1.3.3.9.02.0.0 - Exclusive Instant Lottery Grant - LOTEX
 



Ordinance 113/2024 also includes a paragraph in Annex II of Ordinance SOF/ME 14,956/2021, which establishes codes for the following sources/destination of resources:

182 - National Fund for Public Disasters, Protection and Civil Defense (Funcap)

183 - Integrated Border Monitoring System (Sisfron)

184 - Prevention, Control and Mitigation of Social Harm Arising from Gaming, in Health Areas

289 - Transfer to the Sports Secretariats, or Equivalent Bodies, of the States and the Federal District
