Marina Selmi, LatAm sales manager

“Sportingtech presented features and a new interface to increase the user experience”

In her first participation in a major fair in the sports betting and online gaming sector, Sportingtech's recently appointed LatAm sales manager welcomed GMB for an exclusive interview. Excited about the company's performance, Brazilian Marina Selmi highlighted that the company launched engaging features, games aimed at Brazil and a new interface for its platform. She also said that she has just opened an office in São Paulo and is expanding the local team.

Full-service betting and gaming platform provider Sportingtech has introduced some of its newly-appointed LatAm team at this year’s BiS SiGMA Americas, showcasing how its local know-how and intuitive products can elevate any operator’s position in the region.

On-hand for the duration of the event in São Paulo was Marina Selmi, Regional Sales Manager – LatAm, who outlined the full power of the supplier’s solution. Sportingtech’s expertise in the LatAm market was on display to more than 10,000 delegates, with the company boasting a comprehensive understanding of customer preferences across the region.

GMB - What is the challenge of participating in an event like BiS SiGMA for the first time since you were appointed Regional Sales Manager of Sportingtech?
Marina Selmi
- Ah, it was a very good moment and I was excited to be here as a person. Sportingtech has a strong strategy for the Brazilian market. So, I'm really excited for everything that's coming up.

Which products or new features are presented by Sportingtech in BiS SiGMA Americas?
On the casino side, we have several new games aimed at the Brazilian market, mainly involving the theme of football. In the sportsbook area, we have numerous unprecedented additional services being implemented.

Additionally, we appreciate some services available to our clients' users, such as Bet Builder. But this is more animated than our new UI UX, which we have been developing for some time. I'm sure there's nothing in the industry today that will go head to head with what we're developing.

Speaking of developing products for the Brazilian market and location, how do you see the timing of defining rules with the new regulations? Are you already prepared for this?
Yes. We have been paying close attention to everything that has been happening in terms of regulation, both with our clients and future clients, and there is nothing to worry about.

Sportingtech didn't just appoint a Brazilian regional sales manager for LatAm. It is installing a unit in Brazil. Tell us about this.
Exactly. We have a new office in São Paulo and are expanding our team in several departments. We only tend to grow in the Brazilian market and there is no way to focus on Brazil without being here.

You were nominated for several awards at BiS SiGMA and won one. What does this mean for Sportingtech?
Yes. Having nominations for these awards is a reflection of how the company is heading in the right direction. Everyone does very important work, which is very good for the company. And we cannot fail to celebrate the nomination of Tom Ustunel as CEO of the Year. This shows that we are following an excellent path.

Tom Ustunel named "CEO of the Year"

This year’s event saw Sportingtech pick up another high-profile industry accolade as Tom Ustunel won the coveted CEO of the Year award. The win recognised the leadership and commitment he has brought to Sportingtech as the brand is primed for more growth across the globe in 2024.

Tom Ustunel, CEO at Sportingtech, said: “BiS SiGMA Americas is certainly one of the most important events in the calendar, and we had a tremendous experience at this year’s show. It was important for us to showcase our local team members who have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the region and how we can positively impact the offerings of current and prospective partners.”

“With regulations in Brazil almost finalised, and other markets showing unique appeal and growth potential, we are well-placed to exceed operators’ expectations across LatAm,” he concluded.
