The company paid 10% of this amount as a fine, that is, R$225,000 (US$ 45,000), as stipulated in the contract. The main reason for the termination, according to Gazeta Esportiva, was due to the club's low enthusiasm for the project to create a capitalization title for Corinthians, Tele Timão. The elimination in the Campeonato Paulista only worsened the situation.
In this way, Corinthians, who turned the year around with a uniform filled by sponsors, now has four vacant spaces: the front bar, the back bar, the shoulder blade and the midsection, which reflects a loss of direct revenue.
Corinthians will no longer have the Tele Sena brand on Tuesday's game against Nacional, in the second round of the South American Championship. The contract was broken a few weeks ago, but the logistics of the team's uniforms for the duel against Racing, in Uruguay, had been finalized before the end of the procedures. Because of this, the brand was present on the Corinthians uniform in last week's match.
Without Tele Sena, Corinthians is left with five sponsors. In addition to Vai de Bet, who occupies the most noble place on the shirt as master, Postos Ale, Banco BMG, EZZE Seguros and UniCesumar feature on the uniform.
The black and white team stipulated that new partners will be announced by the end of this month. Now, there are four free spaces on the uniform and a chance to increase revenue in 2024.
