“Brazilian games from Neko are a success, we’ll soon launch one with a Carnival theme”

Visiting the recent BiS SiGMA Americas, Sebastian Perrier was at GMB stand for an exclusive interview. The executive highlighted the importance that the new approach to video bingo has in attracting younger generations to the vertical. He pointed out the success of Brazilian-themed titles and revealed firsthand that the new game will be about Carnival and the Sambadrome.


GMB – What impressions did BiS SiGMA Americas leave on you and what were Neko Games’ objectives when visiting the event?

– This event shows the huge potential of the Brazilian market. We saw an incredible amount of people and the quality of the event, which is improving year by year. Just look at the stands and see this. Top-tier companies and not only operators, but also platform, game and payment method developers. BiS SiGMA Americas has become an important place to do business. I congratulate the organizers for achieving this.

As a major video bingo developer, what is your assessment of this vertical within the iGaming sector?
Bingo is in the DNA of Latin American and Brazilian players, particularly. Bingo is the game we play with our family. It's very important to us, so we want to honor this legacy we have and our culture, making the best video bingo games for the region.

And with a very engaging theme, as it is no longer about drawing numbers using balls. You create engaging stories. Is the goal to attract a new generation?
Yes, totally. Many people think that bingo is for an older audience, but not necessarily. Technology has improved a lot and we can provide much better quality games. Therefore, we seek to bring the quality of slots to the bingo sector. When you watch our games, you will find excellent sound, image and first-class themes.
 


Including a Brazilian theme. What led you to launch a title about Brazil?
Exactly. We took a 100% Brazilian theme, with the name of the game in Portuguese and the mythology telling the story of Minas Gerais from the time of the Colony and the gold rush with completely Brazilian and non-European roots, like most games available on the market.

The market itself recognized this, as Neko Games was awarded Best Bingo Provider. What does this award represent?
It is the result of many years of work dedicated to the market, which allows us to have an excellent relationship with the industry and operators, who see the success of the games because when the user joins a casino operator they find Brazilian titles that play a lot. This award is the result of our work.

Does an award like this recognize not only the game, but also the technological capabilities of Neko Games?
Yes, totally. The award not only evaluates commercial success, but also takes into account the quality of the game.
 


How is the distribution of the Brazilian bingo game to large global operators?
It's impressive, as they take local content because there is a lack of games that Brazilian players are looking for. Operators often place our games in specific Brazilian gaming areas on their websites and no longer remove them, as they arouse users' interest.

Is Neko Games already developing new titles with a Brazilian theme?
Yes and the launch will take place by the end of the year. I can tell GMB exclusively that the theme will be Carnival. We will show the Sambadrome, dancers and samba schools parading.
