Brazilian WEpayments becomes finalist in the EGR B2B Awards as best payments company

Brazilian fintech WEpayments was nominated for the EBR B2B Awards, which takes place on June 13th, in London, as the best service provider in the iGaming industry in the 'Payment Companies' category. “This recognition from the gambling market is an honor for us, as it validates the efforts we have made to anticipate trends and meet the demands of serious institutions such as the Central Bank of Brazil,” says CEO Fernanda Zago.

Investments to offer agile, safe and differentiated services to international betting houses that want to invest in the Brazilian market have led to fintech being recognized by the global industry.

Throughout the year, the company was nominated in the 'Best Payment Method' category at the BiS Awards, and as 'Emerging Markets Payments Solution', at SiGMA Awards. Now, next June 13th, it will compete at the EGR B2B Awards 2024, in London, an event that celebrates the best service providers in the online gaming industry in the world, in the 'Payment Companies' category.

Brazilians' annual investments in sports betting and online gambling reach R$54 billion (US$10.5 billion) in cash, according to a survey based on recent data from the Central Bank that includes remittances to betting companies operating in the exterior. Furthermore, they spend more than 33 million hours playing games per month, according to mapping carried out by Comscore.

The constant rise and popularity of the Gambling market has led several national companies to invest in the iGaming industry to offer complete solutions that meet the demands of both bookmakers and players.

This is the case of the fintech WEpayments, from Curitiba, which carries out high volume transactions and cross border payments and specializes in the iGaming market, being one of the few Payment Institutions authorized by the Central Bank in Brazil and in compliance with the regulations required by the Ministry of Finance.

"Our solution combines the collection of bets with the payment operation for affiliates and prizes for bettors, favoring agility in feedback from the gaming platform in a few seconds, which reduces the complexity of the operation and the need to hire different tools to guarantee aspects such as conciliation and stability,” explains Fernanda Zago, CEO of WEpayments.

It is an honor for us to have these recognitions from the Gambling market, as they validate the efforts we have made to anticipate trends and meet the requirements of serious institutions such as the Central Bank, aiming to offer highly technological solutions and secure financial transactions at all ends - from B2B to B2C,” celebrates Zago, who was also elected in 2024 as “Most Influential Woman in the Industry,” by Caf, an entity that combats payment fraud.
