The regulation of the fixed-odds betting market has brought more security to the people of Paraná who enjoy having fun with friends and family by making guesses about the outcome of football games and other sports. With this confidence, NossaBet has consolidated its operations in the state of Paraná.
Formed by executives and professionals with over 15 years of experience in the market, the company is one of the five that have been authorized to operate in this segment in Paraná.
Marked by the so-called grey market with sites operating outside the law, the gaming segment now experiences a different reality after regulation. In addition to the requirement by the state government for negative debt certificates and declarations of integrity, companies need to prove their ability to operate the business and demonstrate they have the means to pay out prizes to players, including through the purchase of mandatory insurance. There is also an emphasis on responsible and healthy gaming, reinforcing the practice as entertainment rather than an attempt to earn extra income.
NossaBet received authorization from Lottopar to operate in the state in February of this year after paying the R$ 5 million (US$ 1m) concession fee required by legislation.
"The sports betting segment deals with people's money. And we have Consumer Law that works very well in Brazil. Anyone using our service can be sure that NossaBet operates within the laws, both of Brazil and Paraná, and that they will always receive their prize," highlights Luciana Macorin, CEO of the company.
The executive director also points out that, among support, finance, operations, marketing, and technology, the company's operation employs 50 employees. And that the investment has been, up to now, around R$ 10 million (US$ 2m).
"We are proud to operate in Paraná and we will work to further strengthen our partnership with the people of Paraná," she says.
Another important aspect of the legalized operation is the contribution to the development of Paraná. Once regulated, the sports betting sector will be subject to the obligations imposed on all other companies, generating jobs and wealth that help the state become an even better place to live.
Service points will transform the experience
State legislation has also brought the requirement for operators to establish physical service points for their customers. At least one in each of the state's five macro regions – North, Northwest, Campos Gerais, East, and West.
NossaBet is carefully studying this issue, with a focus on improving and transforming the players' experience. The points will also serve as a face-to-face customer support center, where users can get assistance with using the website.
"Our product is entertainment. And having fun is much better when it's shared with friends and family. The physical points will allow this connection while following sporting events and, why not, making some guesses and trying to win prizes," concluded Luciana.
