Hard Rock CEO meets São Paulo governor and promises for the city LatAm’s largest resort

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, received the CEO of Hard Rock International, Jim Allen at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, headquarters of the state’s government. In a closed-door meeting, both discussed the group's investments and the possibility of Hard Rock installing the chain's largest resort in all of Latin America in the state capital.

Tarcísio de Freitas, governor of São Paulo, and the CEO of Hard Rock International, Jim Allen, spoke behind closed doors on Wednesday last week about the possibility of installing a Hard Rock International resort in São Paulo.

According to sources from Palácio dos Bandeirantes to news outlet Veja, the CEO of the American firm even said that the opening of the hotel in the capital of São Paulo “is imminent” and that could be Hard Rock's largest hotel unit in Latin America.

The governor of São Paulo reportedly said that the size of the project would be “emblematic.”

In the conversation, Tarcísio promoted the state as a tourist destination, mentioning Formula 1, shows and musical festivals such as The Town, Lollapalooza, Knotfest and Summer Breeze.

Hard Rock is one of the most important resort chains in the world, with casino operations in the vast majority of destinations where it is present. With the promise of investments in São Paulo, perhaps the iconic guitar-shaped building will become part of the São Paulo landscape in the future.
