Finance Secretariat creates Working Group to implement the state lottery in Acre

The government of Acre, through the State Secretariat of Finance (Sefaz), created this Tuesday (11) a Working Group (WG) responsible for preparing the draft regulation and implementation of the Acre state lottery. The ordinance that created the WG was signed by the portfolio manager, José Amarísio. The initial deadline for completing the work is 60 days, with the possibility of extension for an equal period.

The initiative follows the unanimous decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which recognized the competence of states to explore lottery activities, according to the judgment of the Direct Unconstitutionality Actions (ADPF 492, ADPF 493 and ADI 4,986). The decision opened the way for states to manage their own lottery and consortium systems.

In the ordinance, the manager highlighted that the formation of the GT is aligned with Sefaz's strategic planning for the four-year period 2024-2028. The planning includes the State Lottery project as a crucial initiative for increasing Acre's revenue.

The Working Group will be coordinated by tax auditor Clovis Monteiro de Gomes and will feature the participation of several Sefaz experts, including Israel Monteiro de Souza, Lonmário Moraes do Valle, Eliana Silva Valente da Silva, Adriano Magalhães da Silva, Camila Fontinele da Silva Caruta, Gerliano Mouzinho Nunes and Itamar Magalhães da Silva.

Group members must research and define strategies for standardizing and implementing the lottery, meeting whenever called by the coordinator. The initial deadline for completing the work is 60 days, with the possibility of extension for an equal period, upon request from the coordinator and approval from the Secretary of Finance.
