The ‘Timão’ (as the club is known in Brazil) has been failing to receive R$10 million (US$ 1.85m) per month, since bookmaker VaideBet broke with the club, using the anti-corruption clause due to the scandal involving transfers from the business intermediary to a “figurehead” company.
News outlet Central do Timão found that some negotiations have been taking place in parallel. In some cases, the club was approached, and in others, the club approached companies, offering the space.
Three of the ongoing conversations are with bookmakers: Betano, Parimatch and Casa de Apostas. Proposal values ??range from R R$5m (US$ 930,000) to R$9m (US$ 1.7m) per month at the moment.
The club has not yet "lowered the hammer" on a brand because it believes it can reach the R$ 10 million that was paid by the former partner.
Furthermore, another unusual situation involves negotiations: the requirement, on the part of companies, that the business not go through any type of intermediation. There are also negotiations with other bookmakers, whose names are unknown.
Corinthians wants to conclude an agreement as soon as possible, to restore the club's cash flow and honor routine financial commitments, such as the payroll of the professional squad.
