X1 Brazil belonged to Esportes da Sorte and had a series of betting companies as teams in the competition, such as BETesporte, Aposta Ganha, Apostador, Palpite Certo, Bet22, among others.
Law No. 14,790/2023, already in force, says that a partner or shareholder of a sports organization, as well as any person or company that has or may have access to computerized lottery systems, is prohibited from carrying out the activity of betting operator.
Sponsored by Adidas and partner of CazéTV, X1 Brazil promoted events that were very successful everywhere in the country, with packed arenas and millions of views at each stage. Coverage of the sport was gaining more and more traction in the press and fans followed their favorite players in their search for the desired belt.
Inspired by MMA, X1 Brazil formatted its events like a card and featured staring, provocations, VAR and even "The Best" awards for the best players of the season.

Dear X1 Brazil fans,
Aiming to expand the potential of the modality that has already stood out so much and tied to one of the many missions of the Esportes da Sorte Group, we created X1 Brazil. With great enthusiasm, we have always viewed the project, which has grown and achieved the success it deserves, with the utmost respect and credibility, and there is still room for it to achieve even more.
None of this would be possible without those who, far beyond the guidance of X1 Brazil professionals, make everything happen. Our most sincere thanks go to the team managers, athletes, technical committees, referees, sponsors, and of course, our immense audience that has embraced us throughout this project.
However, as widely publicized, at the end of 2023, Law No. 14,790 of December 29, 2023, came into effect, which aims to regulate, among other things, the activities carried out by betting sites in Brazil, starting in January 2025.
As is known, this concept encompasses Esportes da Sorte. It will be prohibited for a partner or shareholder of a sports organization, as well as any person or company that has or may have access to lottery computerized systems, to operate a betting business.
In this regard, Ordinance SPA/MF No. 827, dated May 21, 2024, was published to establish the rules and conditions for obtaining authorization for the commercial exploitation of the fixed-odds lottery modality.
Among the requirements set out in the instrument, it is necessary to send the legal documents to the Ministry of Finance by next August 2024, so that only in this way will companies be authorized to operate in 2025.
Given all the above, the continuation of the X1 Brazil project, under the current management, is incompatible with the continuation of Esportes da Sorte in its other activities. We tried, along with our legal team, to find a way to maintain X1 Brazil without jeopardizing the attainment of the regulation for the activity, but without success.
With great sadness, considering the reason stated, and the enormous losses of the possible continuation of the project with the brand "Esportes da Sorte," and also considering the need to maintain the operational viability of this and many other players, we have no alternative but to announce the closure of the X1 BRAZIL project and all obligations arising from it, as of this date, 06/27/2024.
Finally, we wish good luck and much success to all athletes and others involved in the X1 chain in their career pursuits, and may the modality continue to be a great tool for social transformation.
