The space will have Instagrammable places, such as a reproduction of the CONMEBOL Copa América table and press conference area, an opportunity for fans to give their guesses about the teams that will reach the final of the competition, in addition to the presence of former Brazilian National Team players who made history in the CONMEBOL Copa América. Won nine times by Brazil, the competition cup, which began in 1916, in Argentina, underwent historic and unprecedented restoration for the 2024 edition. Preserving the roots of South American football, the iconic 11.85 kilo trophy was restored for the 48th edition of the tournament, which will take place in the United States.
The original CONMEBOL Copa América trophy was made by Casa Escasany to be awarded at the 1917 South American Championship, later renamed the Copa América. Over the years, the trophy was modified with the addition of wooden bases to accommodate the emblems of the competition's champions, forming three steps. Since 2004, different replicas of the trophy have been awarded.
“We are excited to participate in the CONMEBOL Copa América this year, and we would like to bring this feeling closer to Brazilian fans. The opportunity to get close to the Cup, which is an icon, is unique and special,” declares Betano.
With their debut scheduled for June 21st, Brazil is in Group D, and will play against Costa Rica, at the SoFI Stadium, in Inglewood, near Los Angeles, California. Colombia and Paraguay are in the selection bracket. In 2024, the CONMEBOL Copa América includes 10 Conmebol teams and six guests from Concacaf.
The cup will be on display open to the public (subject to capacity) on June 6th, in São Paulo, at Shopping Pátio Higienópolis, from 10am to 10pm. On the 8th, the cup will be in Rio de Janeiro, at Barra Shopping, from 10am to 10pm. Both events are free and subject to space capacity.
