Meeting with prosecutor Fernando M. Cesconetto

Betting houses sign commitment with Goiás Public Ministry to combat match-fixing

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) met with the Public Ministry of Goiás (MPGO), represented by the prosecutor Fernando M. Cesconetto, with a view to strengthening responsible gaming in the sports betting market. The entity stated that it will begin to propose positive actions to mitigate the recruitment of players, especially in youth teams.

When monitoring MPGO's participation in the CPI on the Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting (CPIMJAE) of the Senate, the association understood as essential the closeness with public authorities with the aim of providing legal and operational security to the betting sector.

As a result, ANJL will begin to propose positive actions to mitigate the recruitment of players, especially with youth teams, and will implement such actions with state and federal MPs, Civil Police, etc. through possible terms of cooperation.

The virtual meeting with the MPGO was the first in a series that will be held with other MPs in Brazil. The next one will be with the Public Ministry of São Paulo.

The regulated sports betting market does not accept the manipulation of games and ANJL is committed to working collaboratively to ensure the safest possible environment in the country.

President Plínio Lemos Jorge and legal director Bernardo Freire participated as representatives of the association.

Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries defends the interests of its members, the sector and responsible and honest gaming, always guided by the encouragement of sport, the safety of bets and the contribution to economic development from the country.

Members include galera.bet/PlayTech, Big Brasil, F12, PagBet, Betnacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, Zro Bank, Propane, Paag, Clear Sale and BetBox tv.
