To strengthen its market presence

WEpayments becomes new member of the National Gaming and Lottery Association

The payment institution WEpayments (WE) is the newest member of the National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL). The company, licensed by the Central Bank, arrives at the entity to join efforts with other associates in building an honest and regulated environment in Brazil.

Founded in Curitiba (PR), in 2019, by Fernanda Zago and Matheus Gobatto, WE aims to help Brazilian and foreign companies manage their payments with agility, technology, high performance and security.

According to Larissa Iwai, director of Risk, Compliance, PLD and Legal at WEpayments, the association with ANJL is a strategic partnership that aims to strengthen the brand's presence in the Brazilian market, allowing the company to actively participate in the main discussions on national legislation.

For Larissa, by collaborating with ANJL, WEpayments also seeks to improve its understanding of sector-specific regulations and contribute to the development of its internal procedures and processes, as well as being up to date on the latest trends, innovations and challenges faced by gaming companies and lotteries in Brazil.

“The exchange of knowledge and experience between association members is valuable in improving operations and ensuring that financial services meet the specific needs of this dynamic sector,” she said.

For the president of ANJL, Plínio Lemos Jorge, the arrival of yet another payments company to the association reinforces the maturity that the sector is reaching in the country, by understanding the importance of articulation with other market agents to achieve objectives that include planning and implementation and expansion of the activities of this brand new industry in Brazil.

“We are experiencing a vibrant moment for the sector in our country, with several discussions underway, from taxation issues to regulation. We welcome WEpayments as another partner in this constant exchange of ideas and decision-making that we have conducted with our associates, so that we have a healthy and prosperous business environment in our country,” says Plínio.

Launched in March 2023, the National Gaming and Lottery Association defends the interests of its members, the sector and responsible and honest gaming, always guided by encouraging sport, betting security and contributing to the country's economic development.

Among the associates are GaleraBet/PlayTech, Big Brasil, F12, PagBet, BetNacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, ZRO Bank, Propane, PAAG, Clear Sale, BetBox tv, StarsPay and WEpayments.
