Accompanied by Victor Canedo, an influencer at Betano, Ricardo Rocha recalls his debut in the 1994 World Cup against Russia, which was his only match in that tournament. The former defender was injured 30 minutes into the second half and ended up taking on a new role in that victory in the United States, off the pitch.
“There will be seven wonderful episodes, in which we will show people who were fundamental to this title after so long. In the World Cup, I got injured in the first game and was out of the other games, but I would live through it all again, that way. The world has more than 8 billion inhabitants, but there are not even 400 living world champions. I am privileged. It was a mentally strong and prepared group, we will tell all about it,” said Ricardo Rocha.
Brazil had not won a World Cup for 24 years, which made that achievement even more unforgettable for all Brazilians. Even three decades later, those who watched it remember at least some details of the games on the way to the final against Italy, decided on penalties.
But, in this series, you will learn never-before-seen facts, stories told by the athletes about concentration, the locker room and all the behind-the-scenes events that made that team champion.
“The fourth championship is a title that is part of the emotional memory of Brazilian fans and those who are passionate about football. It is a milestone in history that will now be told by its characters. We brought together seven champions to show a little behind the scenes in a series that celebrates everything they experienced,” says Betano.
The series was launched on the 24th, is in its second episode and will have new episodes every week. The full content will be available on Betano’s YouTube channel and with excerpts on social media.
