ANJL promoted lunch to share challenges of the regulated market and responsible gaming in Brazil

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) promoted a lunch among its members this Friday (5). The meeting in São Paulo brought together players operating in different areas of the market, who highlighted expectations and challenges related to the regulation of the sector in Brazil. Some points were the promotion of responsible gaming, transparency and the need for clear rules to develop the segment in Brazil.

The president of ANJL, Plínio Lemos Jorge, said that this type of meeting is fundamental for the growth of the association, strengthening the ties between members and giving transparency to the work, so that the entity can grow more and more.

“We will have a year of many adaptations, in which the association will need to be increasingly present in the lives of the members, to assist them in this transition,” said Plínio, who emphasized that the entity is finalizing the update of its Statute to proceed with the membership requests that have already been made and those that are yet to come.

Hugo Baungartner, commercial director of Aposta Ganha, said that the gathering was an opportunity for the members to get to know each other better and exchange ideas to better understand the scenario in the country and to advance as an association.

“At this moment, I think it is very worthwhile, besides getting to know each other a bit more, to join forces so that we can have a uniform discourse with the same objectives. The year 2025 will be very different from what it has been in recent years. The market will change. As an association and as members, we need to be prepared for these changes,” stated Baungartner.

Lucas de Paula Lima, head of New Ventures at ClearSale, pointed out that the interaction among different representatives of the gaming ecosystem brings new perspectives, helping to address doubts and build an articulation that benefits the industry. He also highlighted the challenging moment the sector is experiencing, with an imminent unprecedented scenario under federal regulation.

“This is the major point of attention at the moment. It is a challenge to balance the regulatory burden with the issue of the regulated market as a whole. If there is no regulation, there are no rules. But if you have a regulation with a very heavy burden, you also inhibit the entry of companies,” said Lima.

“I really want to know what this new reality will be like and the penetration of these main companies in the regulated market. My main expectation is to have clarity on all the details that make up this dynamic and how the market will accommodate, how our channelization rate will be.”

Sandro Botelho, CMO of Bet BoxTV, in turn, emphasized the importance of the union of players for the dissemination of correct information about the sector.

“We have many expectations for the coming year. With the introduction of regulation, taxation, we expect the market to grow a lot and become professional as well. And, to help demystify, those who are not doing things right, try to do so, join those who are doing it, associate with an association like this one. And, of course, promote responsible, positive gambling through education,” said Botelho.

Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries defends the interests of its members, the sector, and responsible and integral gaming, always guided by the promotion of sports, the safety of bets, and the contribution to the country's economic development.

Among the members are galeraBet/PlayTech, Big Brasil, F12, PagBet, Betnacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, Zro Bank, OKTO, Propane, Paag, Clear Sale, and BetBox TV.
