The quest to comply with Loterj's specific standards for regulated operations in Rio de Janeiro also led OKTO, a global provider of payment methods and financial transactions, to approach the authority.
The company entered into a strategic partnership with Loterj's financial transaction processor, PIXS Cobrança e Serviços de Tecnologia, as a settlement bank and direct participant in Pix.
Thus, OKTO also becomes part of the payments ecosystem with Loterj and is already planning a seminar at the beginning of August to explain its working method, understand all the organization's needs and what OKTO can contribute to the regulated market in Rio de Janeiro.
Blaze
The determination by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) to block sports betting houses and online gaming sites that operate without a license in Rio de Janeiro has already started to give concrete results for the state.
Blaze, a sports betting and online gaming house with global operations, approached Loterj in search of accreditation to operate in Rio de Janeiro. The company's objective is, in the shortest possible time, to meet all the requirements of the Accreditation Notice and go through the Proof of Concept (PoC) to start its local operation.
Blaze was one of the companies that appeared on the list of up to 233 websites identified by Loterj as not having “operational legitimacy due to not having authorization from the State and/or the Union,” as described in the Judiciary’s decision telling internet operators to block websites unlicensed.
According to Loterj, not only Blaze, but around 30 other sports betting and online gaming houses have already contacted the authority since Anatel's work with internet service providers in Rio de Janeiro.
“They are of different sizes and countries, who came to us to obtain information about Loterj accreditation, which is still open for this opportunity,” highlights the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery.
