Betfair files application for a sports betting and iGaming license in Brazil

Betfair, a global sports betting and online gaming brand from Flutter International and a strong operator in the Brazilian market, has just filed its application for a license to operate under the rules of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance. The company takes another solid step, shortly after announcing the hiring of Brazilian professionals.

Heavily focused on the Brazilian market, Betfair is one of the largest global operators of sports betting and online gaming, offering a huge variety of sports betting markets and an online and live casino portfolio from the world's leading players.

The company, with almost a quarter of a century in the market, and operating in Brazil since the legalization of sports betting, had its license application published by the Betting Management System (Sigap) this Tuesday (13).

This places the company within the regularity required by the SPA of the Ministry of Finance and enables it to operate freely in the country until December 31st, and on January 1st to do it under government regulations.

One of the largest online sports betting providers in the world, Betfair is the master sponsor of the Vasco da Gama and Cruzeiro football teams.

Betfair was founded in London in 2000 and is a pioneer in offering peer-to-peer betting (Betfair Exchange) and manages a complete set of sports betting, entertainment events and online gaming products for more than four million customers over the age of 18 worldwide.

Thanks to its cutting-edge technology, the platform offers a wide catalogue of products that allow you to bet with your own odds and odds offered by other users. Betfair is licensed to operate online betting and other games in 19 countries, including Spain, Italy, Malta and Great Britain. Now, with its license application, it will operate in accordance with the rules of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting.
