In all, 44 companies have already filed applications with the Prizes and Betting Secretariat to operate in the betting market. August 20 was the deadline for companies in the sector to apply for a license so that they can operate legally as of January 1 of next year.
According to the schedule, approved companies will be notified by November 18, and will then have 30 days to make the payment of R$30 (US$ 5.5m) million for the license.
“The audit process for companies follows a well-defined flow. First, companies must obtain specific certifications, which are fundamental prerequisites. Since we operate as a global platform, this puts us ahead of the curve to work with a solution that has already been successful and regulated in other countries. After submitting the application, all companies that have their requests approved will go through the audit process. This process involves evaluating the platform, the policies implemented and the operational details, ensuring that the company is reputable and able to take care of bettors properly.
"The Brazilian market is still in the learning process, but the recent Treasury ordinances represent a significant step forward in terms of regulation. Meeting all the requirements of the ten ordinances is a complex challenge, but we are ready to overcome it and contribute to a fair, prosperous and safe betting market for everyone," he highlights.
