Rei do Pitaco promotes workshop on responsible gaming for its employees

In anticipation of what the regulator brought in its recently published Ordinance SPA/MF No. 1,231 on responsible gaming, Rei do Pitaco has held training sessions for its employees on the subject. In doing so, the company demonstrates that it is already complying with what is established as good international practice.

“In addition to having a Responsible Gaming Policy, the company's employees need to undergo constant training to put into practice what should be done in these cases,” highlights Rei do Pitaco.

The initiative aimed to train employees to identify and assist consumers who show signs of gambling-related behavior, ensuring the correct treatment and guidance to help them. The goal of Rei do Pitaco is to foster a safe and responsible gaming environment for everyone.

In order to handle the most complex cases and provide the correct guidance to vulnerable consumers, the team received guidance such as humanized care and were instructed to always provide support, encourage the search for professional help and refer identified cases to specialized health treatment services.

For the lawyer responsible for the compliance and integrity areas of Rei do Pitaco, Fernando Vasconcelos, it is important that all links in the gaming chain understand their needs and have in-depth knowledge of the control tools in cases of need.

“It is essential to recognize the gaming industry as entertainment and leisure, never as a source of income or subsistence. Playing games needs to be a safe and fun activity,” said Vasconcelos.

According to him, “Rei do Pitaco is always looking to update the best practices to protect its players, reinforcing its commitment to responsible gaming and measures that can facilitate the quick and safe handling of cases that may present some risk.”
