With sports betting and online gaming undergoing a regulatory process and the legalization of casinos in Brazil ready to be voted on by the Senate Plenary, Editora Globo will discuss the challenges for the country in light of this new economic climate.
The free seminar “The Challenge of Regulating ‘Bets’ and Casinos” will take place in the auditorium of Editora Globo in Rio de Janeiro and will feature two discussion panels on the topic. It will bring together authorities and experts to discuss the challenges of the new legislation for ‘Bets’ – as opertors al called in Brazil- and the bill that legalizes other types of gambling in the country.
The first panel will bring together Celso Sabino, Minister of Tourism; Senator Irajá (PSD-TO), rapporteur of the bill on gambling in the Senate; Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, president of Loterj; and Magno José, president of the Brazilian Institute of Legal Gambling (IJL).
Next, aspects of responsible gaming and the care for the mental and financial health of gamblers will be discussed. The topic will be analyzed by Anna Lucia Spear King, a psychologist and doctor in mental health and founder of the Delete Institute – Conscious Use of Technologies; and Paola Figueiredo, president of RioSolidário, an entity that receives financial support from Loterj with resources from lotteries and iGaming. The panel will be moderated by journalist Ascânio Seleme.
The seminar “The Challenge of Regulating ‘Bets’ and Casinos” is organized by Editora Globo and has the support of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
