Marzia Turrini visited headquarters in Rio de Janeiro

President of BMM meets with Loterj board to advance gaming certification

Loterj President and Vice President, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado and Fabíola Esteves, received a visit from Marzia Turrini, global digital president of BMM Testlabs, at the headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. They spoke about improving the regulation of betting houses in the state, aiming at greater security for gaming operations.

“BMM is a global laboratory, the first in the gaming sector, with 33 years of experience in all markets. We are committed to Brazil and plan to set up a laboratory, generating more jobs for the Brazilian market,” highlighted Marzia Turrini, global digital president of BMM Testlabs.

Loterj intends to launch its call for proposals to accredit a laboratory in the area of ??gaming certification in 2024.

“Loterj will have a certification model that will provide security for bettors and that will not hinder the operation of accredited betting houses. We want the call for proposals to fully comply with what is required in the international market, the requirements of laboratories and also what is appropriate for betting,” stated Hazenclever Lopes Cançado.

The BMM Testlabs executive highlighted that certification is a further step in regulation. “Certification is a consequence of rigorous, transparent and non-interpretable regulation. It is very important to ensure that the game and the platform are certified to protect the player and the industry,” explained Turrini.

“Responsible gaming and certification are part of this legalization. We are committed to maintaining our independence and impartiality and are very excited to work with Loterj. BMM can help ensure that the implementation of the certification is the most appropriate for the market.”

The meeting, held last August 22, was also attended by Natália Fernandes and Polyana Sayuri, from Loterj’s legal department.

BMM has just been hired by CAIXA Loterias S.A. as a provider of technical certification services for its fixed-odds betting system.

Last April, BMM Testlabs was approved to test and certify land-based gaming, online gaming and fixed-odds betting systems in Brazil by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance in 2014. This landmark approval reinforced BMM’s capabilities to test and certify any gaming product, to any technical standard adopted by any gaming regulator, in Latin America and in any other regulated gaming market in the world.

In addition to this federal accreditation, BMM has already been authorized to conduct compliance testing and certification in the three Brazilian states that recently regulated online gaming and sports betting – Rio de Janeiro, Paraíba and Paraná. These three states are in the process of granting operator licenses, which will allow them to offer fixed-odds sports betting, casino games and games of skill.

As part of its commitment to the Brazilian market, BMM is establishing a local laboratory from which the company will deliver its full range of compliance services and solutions, including pre-compliance testing, customized security audits, geolocation testing and software quality assurance (SQA).
