“In my view, this ordinance corroborates what H2bet has been defending, which is responsible gaming, being able to talk about leisure and entertainment for people in a healthy way,” stated Ueltom Lima, CEO of H2 Group.
“Being part of a regulated market brings obligations and responsibilities. It is important to separate the wheat from the chaff, as the Secretary of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance, Regis Dudena, said. It is important that operations that take the market seriously and respect the bettor, bringing benefits to the country, are understood and respected,” he added.
SPA-MF Ordinance No. 1,475/2024 was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) last Tuesday. With the new ordinance, starting in October, companies that have not requested authorization through the Ministry of Finance's Betting Management System (Sigap) will be classified as illegal until they obtain authorization from the Treasury.
H2bet filed the request for authorization to operate in the sports betting market on August 15, before the end of the initial deadline, which was August 20. The request also includes SeuBet, a company acquired by the H2 Group last month. With this, both H2bet and SeuBet will continue to operate starting next month.
Having worked with the best market practices since its creation in 2022, H2bet was one of the 16 players that reached the final phase of integration tests carried out by the Federal Government on betting systems, among more than 120 initial participants. H2bet, for example, had already implemented a series of rules and flows internally, aiming at monitoring transactions, responsible gaming and corporate governance.
Having started its operations in the poker segment more than 16 years ago, the H2 Group relied on its pioneering spirit, professionalism and credibility to regulate gambling in Brazil and establish itself as one of the largest clubs in the country in the segment, with headquarters in São Paulo, Curitiba and Campinas. In 2022, the H2 Group founded H2bet, a betting site with the aim of entertaining its audience and committed to responsible gaming.
